Make an Impact

Make Justice Possible.

By supporting VRLC, you help survivors of sexual violence find justice and reclaim their lives. Your generosity makes it possible for us to provide free legal representation to survivors with attention to their individual needs, and to train hundreds of professionals around the country to do the same.

How to Give

Mail your check – made payable to Victim Rights Law Center (VRLC) – to:

Victim Rights Law Center
11 Beacon Street, Suite 520
Boston, MA 02108

You can call our office (617-399-6720 x21) and provide your credit card information over the phone, or give online.

You can donate via ACH or by making a wire transfer. Please reach out to us at [email protected] or 617-399-6720 x21 for details.

Many employers will match your charitable donation. It’s an easy way to multiply the value of your gift. Please contact your employer’s Human Resources department to find out how to request a match for your VRLC donation.

Please consider recommending a gift to VRLC from your donor advised fund (DAF). You can initiate it through the DAF connector below or by contacting your DAF sponsor directly.

You can create a lasting legacy by naming VRLC the beneficiary of the entire DAF or a percentage. Contact your DAF sponsor for a beneficiary form.

If you don’t currently have a DAF, consider talking with your financial advisor about the possible advantages that a DAF can provide.

If your workplace participates in United Way, please consider designating your United Way charitable donations to the Victim Rights Law Center by using our designation number: M368334.

Your IRA can provide a tax-smart way to support VRLC.

The Qualified Charitable Distribution or QCD (sometimes called an “IRA Charitable Rollover”) is a great way to make a tax-free charitable donation, AND satisfy your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), too.

If you are 70 ½ or older, you can give up to $100,000 in tax-free charitable distributions annually from your IRA directly to VRLC.

To initiate an IRA QCD, contact your IRA administrator to arrange a direct transfer from your account. Please instruct your administrator to note your name and address in their correspondence with us so we know whom to thank!

Please note, to qualify as a QCD, the donation must go directly from your IRA account to VRLC.

By naming VRLC as a beneficiary to a life insurance policy or other asset, such as an annuity or savings account, you can ensure our work continues into the future. Please list VRLC by name, and include our address and tax ID number 02-0588944.

There are many ways to give using other assets – or even establishing gifts – that provide you or your loved ones with income. Please speak with your financial and legal advisor to explore how you might support VRLC through your estate planning.

As always, if you have questions about how to support VRLC, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Ellen Leuchs, Director of Development, at [email protected] or 617-399-6720 x21.

When to Give

A gift today supports VRLC and the clients we’ll help in the coming months. Make a donation now.

A recurring gift allows you to make a significant contribution to our work in a simple, automatic way. Simply select “Monthly” or “Annually” under the Donation Frequency heading. You can modify your recurring gift at any time – simply contact our Development team at [email protected].

Planned gifts often allow a donor to have a greater philanthropic impact than would be possible during their lifetime. By arranging for a future gift to VRLC, you can support our work for decades to come.

We encourage you to consult with your financial advisor when considering these and other charitable options.

Bequest/Will

You can add a bequest to your will at any time. Please consult with your legal advisor in advance. Below is recommended language:

For a Bequest of a stated sum of money:

“I give to the Victim Rights Law Center, currently located at 11 Beacon Street, Suite 520, Boston, MA 02108 (Federal Tax Identification Number 02-0588944), or its successor, the sum of ___________________Dollars ($___________).”

For a Bequest for a portion of your estate:

“I give to the Victim Rights Law Center, currently located at 11 Beacon Street, Suite 520, Boston, MA 02108 (Federal Tax Identification Number 02-0588944), or its successor, ________% of the rest of my estate.

We recommend that you share this suggested wording with your legal advisor.

Charitable Remainder Trust and Charitable Gift Annuity

If you have or are considering establishing a charitable remainder trust of charitable gift annuity, you can name VRLC as beneficiary. Please include our full name, address, and tax ID #02-0588944.

Life Insurance, Retirement Plans, Checking and Savings Accounts

A simple way to make a big difference is by listing VRLC as beneficiary of a financial asset, listing us by name along with our address and tax ID #02-0588944.
