The Department of Education released the much-anticipated new Title IX Rule. How will this impact your work? What does this mean for survivors who are students? You don’t need to navigate this new and critical federal regulation alone.

VRLC has represented thousands of K-12 and college student-survivors over the last 20 years. We continue to leverage that experience and build capacity for legal advocates and attorneys to support survivors nationally.

Join VRLC on Tuesday, May 7 at 12 PT/3pm ET for a FREE 30-minute briefing. The discussion will cover essential updates for legal advocates and attorneys supporting survivors of sexual violence. Many in this community have worked hard alongside VRLC to advocate for these changes. Let’s convene to share what we can expect in the coming academic year in both K-12 and higher education settings.

Shannon Masden, VRLC’s Assistant Director of Training and Consultation, provides national training and technical assistance to colleges across the country related to Title IX, trauma informed policies and response protocols for domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking. Trained as a social worker, she blends trauma informed approaches with legal requirements in ways that push beyond compliance requirements. Prior to working for VRLC, Shannon served as a Title IX Coordinator and a legal advocate.

Amanda Walsh, Esq., VRLC’s Deputy Director for External Affairs, is a national expert in Title IX and issues impacting student-survivors of sexual assault in both K-12 and higher education settings. A former Title IX coordinator, she has trained thousands of campus administrators and provides ongoing technical assistance to legal advocates and attorneys. Amanda continues to represent sexual assault victims in Title IX investigations, special education matters, and school safety issues.

VRLC’s advocacy related to Title IX, including our lawsuit against the Department of Education following the 2020 Title IX Regulations, cannot be supported by state or federal grants. Please consider investing in VRLC’s work on behalf of survivors.
